Subject: Fanfic Cliches


Every fandom has its cliche fic. Sometimes cliche fic even gets its own genre in header listings. In SG-1, it isn't unusual to see headers that include things like "apocafic" or "babyfic" - made-up words that immediately tell the readers that an author is knowingly, and with malice aforethought, writing a fandom cliche story.

What do you perceive as the cliche themes in JAG fic? What kinds of stories show up over and over again, especially when new writers enter the fandom?

And do you believe that cliche themes can be written in a way that holds your interest?
