Subject: No one shows their true character when things are always sunshine and roses. People show what they're made of when they can push through the pain, either emotionally or physically, and come out on the other side whole again. We as people are complex, we have layers. And we like to see layers peeled from the characters we love so that we can see what makes them tick, and identify with their struggles and triumphs. No one has triumphs without the struggles.
