"Dancing in the Dark," Manette -- reminds me of a Jenny Cruisie novel -- humor, romance, action -- but better because I felt more connected to the characters.

"To Hear the Angels Sing," LRM -- probably more relationship-centric than this question would usually make me consider, but the style is so good. (I would name the whole series, but the last is probably never going to be finished.)

"The Circle Game," or "Against the Wind," Sooz. I can't choose.
