Subject: The prodigal returns - sort of.

I've had a couple of people email me to make sure I was still alive, and yes, I am. I think. :)

But nobody's heard from me in forever because ...

I've been writing a novel (more on that later)
My daughter started high school (Oh, the angst)
I bought a house (we're watching them build it right across the street. Cool)
I'm packing (because moving is always fun, right?)
I'm cleaning (because landlords get cranky if you leave too many dust bunnies behind)

Did I mention I've written a novel? Okay, so it's a fan novel (I know, nothing to get too excited about), but still, it's a novel. It'll only ever be read by maybe a dozen people because it's for the Beauty and the Beast tv show - which only ran for 2 1/2 seasons 20 years go. But it's easily the longest, most complicated work I've ever attempted. And the really cool thing? I'm working with a professional editor! Although I think she's starting to worry about my sanity because every time she tears apart a scene I thank her. :)

Enough about me. I've heard from a few people asking about a holiday ficathon. I'm certainly willing to organize and run one if there are enough authors out there who are interested in participating. I don't know that I'll have time to write (ever tried to edit a novel?), but I'm certainly willing to handle the organizational end of things.

So can we have a show of hands? How many people might be interested in writing for a holiday ficathon?
