Subject: I found it much easier to write while the show was still on the air. While possibilities still whirled out there in the ether..lol. I do think the ambiguousness of JAGs ending made it easy for some authors--especially ones that were strongly invested in which way the coin landed to keep going. I was all about the romance and the details were just that to me...so now that the deal has been sealed-I don't have much to add. I can get inspired by an occasional challenge, but basically this is a long way of saying open works best for me.

  • manetta--just because I enjoy your writing so much!! (inside) -- highplainswoman, 16:42:42 05/01/07 Tue

  • I'll second what highplainswoman said, Manette! I simply love your writing and your depictions of Harm and Mac! I miss reading new Manette stories as much as I miss new JAG episodes. Regarding the question raised above, I do think open canon can be a great springboard for fanfic ideas. Little nuances from a new episode can birth a variety of ideas and stories. (As just one example, there numerous great fics that featured the dinner scene from Tribunal.) Without a continual influx of new show material, it can make it more challenging to continue to come up with fresh ideas. Yet, I am also amazed at the creative story ideas authors continue to come up with regarding H & M. (NT) -- lisa, 20:17:14 05/01/07 Tue
