Subject: Ficathon Information


In a minute, I'll open a prompts post for the new ficathon. First though, a bit of information for those of you who think you might be interested in participating. As always, I will be communicating with the authors via email during the ficathon, but if you have any questions now, feel free to contact me by email. And remember, please don't discuss your ficathon participation or your prompts with anybody. Anonymity is key. :-)

General Guidelines

1) Prompt suggestions can be submitted by anybody.
2) You do not have to submit a prompt in order to write, but obviously the more prompts that get submitted, the better off we'll be.
3) You may submit multiple prompts.
4) When the prompts post closes (see dates below), you will have one week in which to choose your three favorite prompts and email them to me.
5) I will assign prompts on a first come, first served basis with no duplication, so you may or may not get your first choice.
6) You will have a minimum of three weeks to write your story, beginning on March 1, 2009.
7) All stories are due to me no later than March 22, 2009.
8) You may write more than one story if you wish, but check with me about follow-up prompts to make sure they've not already been taken.
9) Stories will be posted to the HBX (anonymously) beginning on March 23, 2009.

Dates:

February 15, 2009 - Prompts post opens
February 22, 2009 - Last day to suggest prompts
February 22, 2009 through March 1, 2009 - Authors request the prompts they would like to write.
March 22, 2009 - Stories due to me by email.
March 23, 2009 - Stories start posting to the HBX.
