Getting caught up--the spring cleaning "bug" has struck here and I'm trying to get more "organized" for the busy summer season ahead. But anyway. . .

Certain names have become "famous" within the JAG fandom simply because their work/contributions--moderators of the boards/prolific writers, etc.--have made a significant difference in some fashion--and they deserve the recognition. That's the way the world works--and I'm not sure I would have it any other way!!

The problem is, I think, it's awfully easy to wish for things to be different or for certain writers to have continued on, or that nobody else could write (specifically referring to fan fiction writers here!!) "better" or "as good as" certain writers. For me, I find myself reluctant to look at new writers to the genre--although I'm trying not to fall into that groove, just simply because in my own mind, the standards that certain writers set are so high!! I would encourage new writers in any case--because that particular bias is my own--althoughI'm sure I'm not the only one with that particular bias!!
