Subject: In general, except for periods when the services wanted to thin the ranks, three years time in grade is required to retire an an 0-6. I've done several timelines since gorilla Don wasn't "kind" enough to give us Mac's birthday, commissioning date etc. I believe she was commissioned NLT 1987 and thus would have been retirement eligible in 2007. Some fans believe she was more junior - 4 years or even 6 yrs junior to Harm. If yes, there's just no way they could have both been pay-grade 0-4 in January 1997 (we know Harm was promoted during S. 1), even if she was promoted way below zone. My considered opinion!
