Subject: I don't mind angst, so long as it ends happily. Others have said this before, but I read fanfic for release/escape. For that reason, I'm not sure I could deal with a story that was all angst, all the time. I guess, though, it would also depend on the story and how well it was written.

  • I’m still willing to read deep emotional stories, if they’re well written. Action stories aren't my favorites, but if they’re well written, I’ll read them. We didn’t get to see a lot of happy fluff on the show, so I think to some extent that need is being filled on the page after the fact. There was a certain amount of angst on screen, but while the show was going on, it may have been easier for some to read, because they could still hope for a happy resolution on screen. Knowing that Harm and Mac got together in the end may somehow be coloring current writing. They were unhappy and not together for so long, why would we want to read more unhappiness. That may be some of the underlying thinking. For my own part, I’m just trying to deal with the shrinking amount of good new stuff. (NT) -- TK, 11:48:48 02/22/07 Thu
