I agree with your description of Mac as protective to the point of risking her career. However, she apparently, did nothing to get Harm off the hook during the Singer debacle.

This would seem at first glance to be out of character behavior. But now it is part of canon and therefore part of Mac's story.

What should we do with that? Yell at the writers for writing Mac out of character? Or look for an explanation for seemingly out of character behavior?

I know what I do, but what does every body else think?

      - I don't think we can assume a character didn't do something that would have been logically consistent with their characters, just because we didn't see it happen. The writers have only so much time, so they focus on the main point. We never saw anyone at JAG worrying about Harm, but it doesn't make any sense to think that they didn't.         I think out of character is not only dialog, but actions as well. For example if Harm came home and beat up Mattie. Now come on, we know Harm wouldn't do such a thing, so it's out of character.         Well that is extreme, though I imagine somewhere there's a sadist fanfic writer out there. But in general, people are capable of a lot of behaviours. If Harm were to do something so bizarre, there would have to be a reason (like he was high on crystal meth that someone had slipped him.) What I'm saying is, if language is consistant, and the story is well told, we would be convinced. We may hate the story, but that is a different matter. (NT) -- Cece, 22:43:26 03/03/07 Sat
