Subject: I'm more interested in whether it's a "good" story - drama, action, adventure, investigation, courtroom drama, romance - a good combination of several of those elements. Shipper ending or "on their way " - is a must have! I want to be able to invest in the story, emotionally, to get caught up in it (at least if it's a longer story). All of that is more important to me than when, timewise, it takes place: pre S.9, S. 9 or 10, or after FW&FS - taking us into the future. I hadn't thought I'd be much interested in writing stories set in the mid-seasons, until I wrote some for the Fic-A-Thon!

  • I read everything as long as it's well written and believable, and if it includes the basic I need at some point - romance, LOL! I agree that fanfics written post s 9 tend to be more in-depth and emotionally insightful, so what I chose to read also somewhat depends on my mood at the time. I find that I can enjoy both equally though. Regarding writing, I've found that I'm more comfortable writing emotional pieces when they are set post s 9, because I understand Mac's emotional turmoil (at least I think I do) and I feel more comfortable writing about Harm's emotions at that time, whereas I have trouble following his mind-set pre-season 9 (with regards to his feelings for and actions towards Mac)! If I'm inspired to just write a humorous AU piece, I tend to set it in late s7 or early s8. (NT) -- Colie -- I hope that made any sense, 06:27:36 03/11/07 Sun
