Author: Colie -- I hope that made any sense
Subject: I read everything as long as it's well written and believable, and if it includes the basic I need at some point - romance, LOL! I agree that fanfics written post s 9 tend to be more in-depth and emotionally insightful, so what I chose to read also somewhat depends on my mood at the time. I find that I can enjoy both equally though. Regarding writing, I've found that I'm more comfortable writing emotional pieces when they are set post s 9, because I understand Mac's emotional turmoil (at least I think I do) and I feel more comfortable writing about Harm's emotions at that time, whereas I have trouble following his mind-set pre-season 9 (with regards to his feelings for and actions towards Mac)! If I'm inspired to just write a humorous AU piece, I tend to set it in late s7 or early s8.
