HERE'S SOME HUNK OF THE MONTH "THIS AND THAT"------ -- AJ, Thursday, September 24, 05:18:18pm [9]
----Did A Vote Count
I think this has been mentioned before, and is certainly true, that the monthly winner's picture on the Site gives them wonderful free publicity. For fun, I did a rounded count as of the last tally day, of everyone having at least 500 or more votes, which comes to approximately 225,000 (Quarter Million) so far this month!! True, some folks don't see the picture each time they vote, but many more do. And, of course, many of the voters are the same folks each day. But still.... When David wins, we enjoy it (!) and he is seen by others literally thousands of times -- Terrific!

----Great Picture
Have had some correspondence with the Hunk Site folks recently, and it was time to send more pictures. They gave me the technical info needed, we picked out a wonderful group (which they now have on hand), and sent them on. And they got there just in time--the terrific one this month is one of those!

----Also Curious
Had asked them when David's name was first put on the ballot. They couldn't find that for sure, but they did find he got his first votes in March of 2004. Since that's only 1 year before JAG ended (!), his 10 wins are even more impressive, because they have happened in a relatively short time.

Which brings me to a thought the Hunk Site folks wrote. I will quote......."Thanks For Voting! It's always nice when a fellow Canadian gets lots of votes. And you all are a pretty loyal fan base. DJE is a lucky guy.".......Wasn't that lovely of them to express that??!!

----SO.......here's a little gift, which also has a little history!
A couple of Saturday's ago, I put these pictures from a scene in "Season 2 Heroes" in my picture folder to use sometime. When I finished, checked out what was new on the Board, and saw that Bernadette had just posted a wonderful (!) smile from that very same scene (Enjoy again near top of Archives Page 3) -- Amazing! Great minds, eh, Bernadette?! So the pictures below are kind of a "Part II" from both of us, in honor of all of you who have made David's Hunk Wins possible!

- AJ, I didn't know when his name had been added to the list but I do know that he won the first time in January 2007. That means he won 10 times between January 07 and September 09. I also checked out David Boreanaz who has won 11 times (including June 09) BUT... he first won in October 1998 which means 11 times in 11 years! Flashback Tuesday is finally ready! I tried to post this last week but the motherboard in my computer died so I had to replace it and then so many of my things didn't work due to drivers etc. I didn't have audio for a full week! Argh!! Anyway -things seem to be back and working. so ...

You have probably already figured guessed based on the image that it is E! Celebrity Profile To keep the video files manageable - it is in 8 parts/pages. Still - give the page a minute to load before hitting play. (It will probably start and stop for some of you but after the first time through the second time plays much better.)

- Such a great witness that success does happen through basic raw talent, but, also, lots of love, support, determination, and hard work. This was a good old-fashioned success story about a great guy who comes from a normal (actually, quite a fun-loving bunch!), functional background. This was great for me to see as we have a daughter who has expressed to us that she would like to pursue the performing arts. It broke our hearts, at first and DH was adamantly against it. She's dogged and determined, however, and we are now looking into schools after high school. Nigel Marven gave lovely interview about pandas this morning! -- mj, Wednesday, September 23, 03:04:48am [2]
DJE's great friend was on the BBC this morning defending the pandas! A British politician (actually, former, I think -- for all the UKers -- Chris Patton) made a statement that all the money put into 'saving the pandas' should be used for other things and that we should just let the pandas die out. Nigel Marven, who will be soon airing a special about pandas, was horrified and adamantly disagreed. He was so cute, talking about his 'mum' who loves pandas and they showed some footage of him with a gaggle of pandas all over him. I was so pleasantly surprised when I flicked on the breakfast news this morning to this.

There are some great scenes in this episode which for as far as watching David goes were a lot of fun but my opinion of this episode as far as the story goes is not high. I really did not like it. And the funny thing is ... the scenes that are really good for David are also the ones in the *story* that I did not like!! I'll try and write up my thoughts and put them on the inside in a little bit.

So - what did you guys think? Did you like it? Is it a favorite for you?

- Great caps AJ. This episode had its good parts and bad. I didn't like how they treated Harm on his return, talk about cold shoulder. And the SecNav's son!!!, how did he become an officer with that attitude. This was a dump on Harm episode, the Captain, Jordan etc. Glad to see Harm back.   - Being the devil's advocate here (even though Harm said the devil has enough advocates) - I felt the Sec Nav's son had always been MADE to OBEY when he was at home without any gray areas (couldn't play baseball because he didn't get straight As) and now he could make decisions for himself. I also think he felt it was the principle of not bending, rather than just having an attitude. As far as Harm, I didn't like the cold shoulder either even thought Mac asked him to lunch but he couldn't join her, and the Admiral may have given him the case because he was a good lawyer and wanted him back on board.   - Agree about disliking the cold shoulder, given by the officers but not by the enlisted, who were glad to see/meet him. Also interesting was Harm's struggling with Mac over the case a couple times, in her capacity now as his superior officer. He persists for the truth through all the adjustments. But the hopeful attitude waiting for the verdict, is replaced by the awful realization that the Members have voted for the Captain, in spite of Harm proving his case. Don't recall for sure, but think this may be the only time in a JAG episode, that the truth did not prevail. Interesting they did that......... (NT) -- AJ, Tuesday, September 22, 07:27:04pm
- I thought the caps were really great, AJ. Concerning the episode, it was the sign of things to come....more courtroom drama and less action. I know, being in the courtroom was what the show was about, but this was a "sad" beginning in Harm's return to the JAG (Jordan leaving and the cold shoulder routine). - Great screen caps AJ as always. I felt so sorry for Harm when Jordan left for Spain without making up with him. Also, I really thought the Admiral showed a lack of leadership when he gave Harm the cold shoulder. Giving him the high profile case regarding the Sec Nav's son was also a form of his kind of "punishment" because Harm chose to try aviation again--his first love. - I love the entire first 4 eps of this season, KGB, RE, TC and R, it is Harm, Harm and nothing BUT Harm! Two great 90 minutes of running time!t is so sad when all of the women in his life leave him...first Annie (didn't really like her, but it was sad when she left), then Jordan (liked her the best) and Mac when she went to Paraguay, only one I was glad to see go was Renee, although I could feel Harm's sadness there too. On this week's episode of MEDIUM, on which David guest stars, the grandmother is played by actress Ellen Geer. Want to mention a bit about her very interesting life and family.She has had a 40-year career in movies, the theater, various Shakespeare companies and television. She also is devoted to theater education in the community and as a visiting professor at UCLA. As a younger girl, her mother decided the family should settle in Topanga Canyon, California. There her father started a local drama company, and on his death Ms.Geer became it's director, carrying on to this day, having enlarged it to a company of international reputation. Of note, her mother was Herta Ware, who had a good career as a character/supporting actress, best known for her role in the movie "Cocoon". Her father was Will Geer, accomplished in stage, film and television in a long career. At the time of his death from a cold that turned into pneumonia, he had just completed his 6th season on "The Waltons" as the grandfather.

So......Ms. Geer had no scenes with David in MEDIUM, but had several with him as the Judge in "The Guardian" from Season 2 of JAG. (Always loved the look she gave him when his beeper went off in court!). Now......MEDIUM was cancelled by NBC last season after 5 years, but picked up by CBS, who thinks there's still more seasons to be had there (sound familiar?). And......guess what their time slot is when the season begins this week? You got it -- Friday nights at 9 p.m., the old time slot of JAG and CLOSE TO HOME! Ah, the very circular world of show business! Have a good week, folks!

  - I do them with Adobe Photoshop Elements (Version 2.0). Elements is the 'non-professional' version of Photoshop. It does not have all the bells and whistles of Photoshop, consequently it is much cheaper. In fact I got Elements free with an inexpensive scanner that I bought.. I think Elements is up to Version 7.
