Hi guys! I found this message posted in Spanish on another site! Since I don't know Spanish, I got my awesome dad to translate the whole thing for me! He did it in 10 minutes! Wwhat do you all think?!
ED DOMINGUES OF GLOBAL BEAUTIES, SPONSOR OF MISS CANADA
Open letter to all honest beauty pageant fans.
Subject: Global Beauties does not have any credibility. Corruption in this website prevails.
During the past few days in Global Beautiess coverage, there have been some reports appearing that first of all do not conform with the reality in Thailand. Second, these reports are false and without foundation. Even more so Global Beauties is losing all credibility in view of confirmed rumors that the site is publishing several comments about beauty queens made by individuals that do not even exist. On May 19, the site published an information that does not reflect what is truly going on in Thailand. I present you that information and I will comment on it:
5/19
*WITHOUT FAVORITES: Although some media outlets have reported their sympathy toward certain delegates due to their personalities and qualities, when it comes to the actual competition, we could say that this pageant has no favorites at all. People following the pageant cannot agree on a certain winner, or certain favorites, as this year's group is very much at the same level. Things are expected change after the Preliminary Competition, on May 26th.
How is it possible that a site so popular and respected in pageantry is saying that there is no favorite, when in fact that everyone knows that Miss Puerto Rico is the favorite. Of course, this does not mean that she will win; whoever excels in the preliminaries and in the final night will be the winner, but how dare they ignore a detail that is simply the very truth that Cynthia Olavarria is the favorite in this years Miss Universe 2005.
It hurts me a lot that this site, and other things published in this site, are treating Miss Puerto Rico as if she were not a true beauty queen in the Miss Universe pageant and you will wonder why a site so prestigious and widely visited in the world of pageantry could not be objective in discerning what someones beauty is. Well my Latin American brothers and sisters, the answer is very simple: Global Beauties sponsors, favors and elects Miss Natalie Glebova as Miss GB Photogenic because Mr. Ed Dominguez, the associate of Henrique Fontes, is the one who is taking her to the Miss Universe pageant; in other words, it was Ed Dominguez who prepared her and there are reliable sources that attest to this.
I do not have any type of problem with this matter, that everyone has the right to take whomever they want to any beauty pageant, but remember, friends, that we all have to be objective and honest. I dont even have any problem that Miss Canada has been elected as Miss GB Photogenic because the girl is beautiful; theres no doubt about that. But where is the honesty, the objectivity, the clarity and the concision required of each beauty expert? Its terrible and pitiful that a site like GB has always something to say against Puerto Rican beauties, and you will say that they do it every year. But what is happening my friends is that all of this is getting tiring, that this is a tremendous lack of respect coming from a fifth-rated site such as GB, that it is bad enough that the candidates from Puerto Rico, my country, my land, are being trampled on, criticized viciously and ignored like lMiss Olavarria who is impressive in her external as well as internal beauty.
Mr. Henrique Fontes, I invite you to go to Thailand to see that the candidate who appears on the covers of newspapers of the host country is Miss Puerto Rico, Cynthia Olavarria, its she who has captured daily the different media: the press, television, and international press. I invite you to stay in the host hotel of the pageant so you could observe that the press from all corners of the universe acclaim Cynthia, and by this I dont want to tell you that she is the one who should win, no, never. I am telling you only because when an information is mentioned or published in your famous site, I hope that is a true information, that it agrees with the existing reality lived in Thailand, not with another story created by you for the sake of favoring Miss Brazil or Miss Canada.
Its really a shame that people visit a site such as this one, and even though PR has always been one of the five finalists, that is obvious because no one can deny it. To deny it would make it even more obvious. How could anyone take the judges of the Miss GB Photogenic seriously when 80% of the judges are Brazilians? What is happening? Are there not enough talents from around the world fellow connoisseurs of beauty that Global Beauties could have contacted to form a universal and transparent jury? Isnt Global Beauties supposed to be the website of universal beauty? What is wrong with those people?
Its a shame that things like these occur before the eyes of thousands of fans. This letter is not meant to promote ill feeling or much less a plea to fans to stop visiting the website. Absolutely not. But in agreement with my principles as a person, as a human being, as a Puerto Rican, as a Latin American and as a follower of beauty contests, I must always be honest. We can be fanatics and true followers, but we have to be honest, my people, to play fair. Its a pity that Global Beauties is the site of so many insecurities reflected on those people who cannot be objective and who do not have the capacity to know when they are becoming ridiculous.
I appeal to you to find other alternatives, because we Puerto Ricans are tired of the lack of respect from this website and I am sure that neither the Puerto Ricans nor the Latin American fans, not even the one who is truly honest, wants to be part of a website that is not honest, that does not respect what beauty is all about and that allows its contents to be entangled in a web of deceit. To Puerto Rico as a country of respect and to whom should be respected just like any other nation, heres one Puerto Rican who is defending his country and who is doing it for real.
If you are honest with yourself, dont visit Global Beauties.
