I'm sitting in my new apartment here in NY! Can you imagine the culture shock I am going through, from living in Arkansas to now New York??? It's a HUGE difference! I woke up my first morning here to car horns blowing and I knew I wasn't in my small town anymore. I'm just getting finished with media week and it has been great! I met my boss, Mr. Trump Wednesday which was so exciting!! I must give it to him, he's a very sharp man! I can't believe this. I really think I have a long way to go before this new life sinks in. That being said, I am about to start packing, I leave tomorrow for Cancun with Crystle for my first appearance! NY and Cancun, two places that I have always wanted to go and I am going to them in a week's time. It's unbelievable. I am just getting settled in to my NY apartment, but I can�t wait to visit my Arkansas home and gather up some more things to make my new apartment feel more like home. I am so overwhelmed right now! I have country music playing LOUD in my room bringing the Southerness to NEW YORK!! Just something to keep me grounded in my own roots! I guess I can officially call myself a New Yorker because I just made a very big decision with my life and yeah I'm kind of nervous, but I know it was the thing I needed to do! I filled out my application to New York Film Academy today and will start classes on September 3rd, with Hilary. YAY! And WOW! This is completely amazing! I know this was my calling and I can't wait to see what else God has in store for me. To all out there, if you have a dream, GO FOR IT!! You never know what life has in store for you until you take a chance. I never dreamed a week ago that I'd be living in NY just like that. So if you see it, believe it, then achieve it!! If you visited the board prior to the pageant, you would have read that the pageant WAS NOT televised this year and won't be shown on any networks. I saw former Miss Teen USA and current Days of Our Lives Star Shelly Hennig talking about contouring makeup by It Cosmetics www.itcosmetics.com on the T.V. show, Extra! Contestants use it to give the appearance of a larger bust line, flat or ripped abs, defined legs, perfect cleavage, etc. It was formulated by a former Miss USA contestant, Jamie Kern-Lima, specifically for getting swimsuit bodies to look perfect�even if they�re not. It�s no longer only about who diets hardest or gets the most workouts in. Not when a girl can easily contour a six pack right before she goes on for swimsuit. Let's be honest here. It became clear very early on that MUO wanted an 18 yr old this year. My daughter was asked several times if she was 18 at this pageant. She caught on quickly that an 18 year old would win it. 4 of the Top 5 were 18 or 19 and only one 17 year old. When the girls were aked who here is 18 and able to vote she knew it was over for her (NT) -- Shame. Guess the others should have just stayed home., 18:33:21 08/18/08 Mon hello mom, I totally think you are right. I know a USA recent teen delegate who did not make top 15 at Teen USA. Almost all of the other delegates told her how shocked they were. They had thought she was one of the top competitors and she was not from a "sash" state. Her director even told her that other directors had told her that her girl would be up there in the last 5 minutes of the show. She had called home from the very beginning of her stay and said that she could tell there was a lot of politics going on. So sad that it was not televised and looked so cheap.
