Subject: You are invited to attend the 2010 MISS UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL OKLAHOMA SCHOLARSHIP PAGEANT on Saturday, November 14. The pageant will be held at 7:30 p.m. in Constitution Hall in the Nigh University Center (UCO Campus.) We have 12 beautiful, talented, and intelligent Contestants -- and we look forward to an exciting event. Special guests will be our reigning Miss UCO -- Taylor Upson, Miss Oklahoma 2005 -- Jennifer Warren Zabel (Mistress of Ceremonies), and Miss UCO 2005 -- Keelee Bright. Tickets are $10 and will be available at the door. Current Miss and Teen titleholders wearing their crowns will be admitted free.

Subject: It is with a heavy heart that I write this post Chairman Emeritus Charles Welch passed away this morning. Charlie made a huge impact on my life as I am sure he did with other pageant contestants. My thoughts and paryers go out to the family in their time of loss.

Subject: I have a suggestion for the scheduling of local pageants so as to open as many pageants as possible to all contestants. Divide all authorized locals into 2 groups---east and west. Equal number in each group. No more than one pageant in the east and one pageant in the west would be allowed to be scheduled on the same night. New pageants authorized after the division of locals into groups would be assigned to the appropriate group, and would have choice of remaining dates equally with all other unscheduled pageants in their group. Dates would beapproved by the state pageant on a first-come first served basis, but again, no more than one eastern and one western pageant on the same night. Thoughts?

A former Miss Oklahoma contestant, Leila Hunt Willingham, was on the news last night talking about her brother, Jason Hunt, age 22, from Tipton, OK. He was one of those killed at Ft. Hood. I didn't know her well, but remembered her as a very sweet girl. The Ft. Hood incident is such a tragedy and I thought those who know Leila might want to know, if they didn't already, in case they want to do something for her or her family.

The Miss Southwestern and Miss SWOSU Outstanding Teen Pageant will be held next Saturday, November 14 at 7 pm in the SWOSU Fine Arts Center. Tickets at the door will be $10 and all titleholders will be admitted free. We have 7 Miss contestants and 7 Teen contestants so it should be a great show this year. Hope you can attend.

Subject: The 2010 Miss Green Country and Miss Teen Green Country Pageants will be held on Saturday, December 12th. This is a one day event open to contestants statewide. The deadline for submitting applications is Tuesday, December 1st. For an information packet, please email kevinchumley@yahoo.com or you can call 918-955-7171. We hope that this date following university finals will be a great way to see or make friends and have the chance for “something special” for the holidays. We look forward to seeing everyone on the 12th.
