5th Annual Okra Festival
New Market Street, St. Martinville
10:00 am to 5:00 pm; Cook-off starts at 6:00 am
The African-American Musuem will host it's Annual Okra Festival with the traditional Cook-Off Competition in historic downtown St. Martinville on New Market Street.
This year's festival will have activities for the entire family. Activities include live zydeco music from Lil Nathan & The Zydeco Big Timers, Leon Chavis & the Zydeco Flames and Sha Me Nu.
An Okra Cook-Off competition featuring unique Okra dishes, entertainment by local dance and high schools, Queen presentations, food, crafts and drink booths. Admission $5.00 per person; children under 12 admitted free. Call 337-394-2230 (Danielle Fontenette) for more information
