I found a picture of a little black bunny in a pink dress, that your daughter was holding. It's now stuck up on the wall again...LOL. So incredibly cute.
Anyway, I thought about you in April when I went to see someone who was staying at the hotel where the Stargate convention was taking place. Another friend of mine, signed up and couldn't stop talking about meeting Amanda Tapping.
It was kind of weird seeing all these guards in combat cammies, and men in the elevator in long robes. It seemed to be a very busy and popular convention.
Well I'm glad to see the ducks are still quacking!

Twelve years after the original "Stargate" movie was a hit in theaters, writer and producer Dean Devlin still hopes to complete the trilogy he originally conceived. And he's in talks with MGM to do just that, he told fans gathered at the San Diego Comic Con today.
"'Stargate' was a film a lot like [Devlin's new film] 'Flyboys' because it's a film no one wanted to do or fund and we had to get our funds ourselves. I thought one time about what it would be like if I didn't do this. It's like being a dream ... and now the it's like the dream has walked out of my mind, across the street, married someone, etc."
While Devlin and "Stargate" director Roland Emmerich never raced to support the television series produced by MGM without their involvement, the producer said that he is proud of the success of his brain child.
"You can't help but be proud of that, especially when no one believed in that," he said. "There was a day we went back to the editorial suite and no one was there -- everyone was gone.
"The interesting irony is that now that Flyboys is independent, we've made a deal with MGM to release it. And suddenly now I'm in a position where I could suddenly do those sequels. We're in talks with MGM to do 'Stargate' sequels."
MGM originally acquired full rights to the "Stargate" franchise when it signed on to distribute the film in 1994, after it had been produced by Emmerich's Centropolis Films. Though Devlin hoped that the movie's box office success would make a second and third feature film happen, MGM instead tapped veteran television producers Jonathan Glassner and Brad Wright to create Stargate SG-1 for Showtime.
In light of SG-1's small screen success, MGM has for years expressed a desire to see Stargate return to the big screen, even penning a deal with Wright and SG-1 executive producer Robert C. Cooper to create an SG-1-based film.
Whether hope remains for Devlin's original "Stargate" concept -- and whether there is room for two different versions of the "Stargate" mythos -- remains in MGM's hands.

Is anyone else excited about Friday? I didn't think I'd be so ready for the new season, but tv this summer has been dismal - IMHO. Gosh, I finally get to be home evenings and nothing is on. The only shows that have been a must see for me have been Treasure Hunters and Solitary. Bring it on, Stargates!!

All the usual disclaimers apply here.
Daniel was looking at the newspaper and mumbling under his breath. There was something about the one of the photostories that was nagging at him. He decided to put it down and go for a walk around the SGC to clear his head. Maybe he would stop in the mess hall and grab a container of yogurt or a protein bar. He’d make another effort when he got back.
About 50 yards from the door to the mess hall he ran into Sam. She had just come from there.
“Hi, Daniel. I’m glad I ran into you. We’re being sent to PCX3T489 tomorrow. There are supposed to be some ancient ruins there and we will need you to help translate any writings that we find.”
“Huh, oh yes of course. What time are we leaving?”
“900 hours……are you ok? You seem a little distracted.” She said.
“What, oh yes. I was reading a newspaper article a little while ago and something in it is causing a small very quiet bell to start ringing in the back of my head. I just cant understand why. I thought a little walk help.”
“Well, maybe if you sleep on it, it will come to you when you wake up.” She started to move on her way and waved and said “I’ll see you in the morning.”
“Yeah, goodnight.”
Thinking about what Sam had said he decided not to go back to his quarters and the newspaper. He headed for the gym and spent the next two hours working out. When he got back to his room he showered and went right to bed. He knew the next day was going to be a long one. It didn’t take him long to fall asleep. A short while later he started to dream. He was walking through a wheat field as if he were looking for something, something just ahead of him but he never seemed to reach the spot where it was. He started running but still could not get there….
Daniel shot bolt upright. He was breathing heavily as if he really had been running. He got up and got a drink of water. His gaze fell on the newspaper. He realized that his nightmare had something to do with not being able to figure out why that article meant something.
“Morning, Daniel. Oversleep did we?” Jack was busting on him and he knew it .
“Sorry, Jack, I had a bad night.”
“Shall we go then, time and PCX3T489 wait for no man.” Said Jack
Jack, Teal’c, Sam and Daniel went through the Stargate
When the team came through the gate they were surprised to see that PCX3T489 was a very blue planet. The sky was dark blue, the trees were a turquoise-y blue, the grass was royal blue.
About a half mile down the road they spotted the ruins that Sam had told Daniel about.
While he checked out the symbols carved on the ruins, Jack, Sam and Teal’c scouted the area to make sure there were no surprises hiding in the shrubbery.
All of a sudden a small man with a blue complexion came from around the bushes. “oh my, oh my” he said, appearing more confused than surprised or scared. “Who are you, how did you get here?” he said.
“My name is Jack, this is Teal’c and that’s Sam. Who are you?”
I am Goldinkus, second Grand Premak of the village of Haridinicoo
“Well, isnt that a mouthful” said Jack. “We came through the Stargate, you know, that big honking stone circle, from a galaxy far, far away.”
“Oh, how fascinating!” said Goldinkus “You must come to our village and be honored as our guests.”
A short while later the team was entering a village of blue houses, and Goldinkus led them to the biggest one. He introduced them to Allebasi, who was the first Grand Premak of the village.
“You are just in-time for our mid-day meal, please join us.”
The soup was blue, meat and vegetables were blue and even the fruit. They were all served on plates decorated with designs of circles connected by stems and with triangles inside them.
Daniel looked around the room and there were more of these and similar symbols on the walls.
It struck him then that he had seen them before, and just recently.
“Daniel…. “ Jack said slowly “why do you have that look on your face?”
“What look?”
“The one that says there are lights going on in your brain, Daniel”
“Allebasi, where did these designs originate?” Daniel asked.
“Ah, honored guest, they have been here since the time of our great times five forebarers. It was rumored among our older citizens that they were used for traveling to far off places.”
“Daniel….why do you have that look on your face?’
“I think I have just figured out something that has been puzzling people for the last 30 years! I want to wait till we get back home to check it out before I say for sure.”
After the meal they headed back to the gate and back home. Daniel made a bee-line to his lab and within seconds had his nose buried in a book.
The other members of the team came to his lab a short while later.
“So, Daniel, what was the big discovery?” asked Jack.
“Well, you know how we have always thought there were more places out there to go but we only had the gate symbols we have been using?”
Jack tilted his head sideways and said slowly “yes…”
“And you know that for many years now there have been mysterious symbols showing up in wheat fields ?”
“Yes….”
“and people have speculated that the crop circle designs were some kind of message?”
Well, to make a long story short……those crop circle designs are actually gate addresses!

I got bored this weekend ... too tired to go out and do anything too strenuous and not bored enough to be able to take a long nap ... I had my own marathon of SG1. I started with Season 1 (pilot, enemey within, there but for the grace of god, season finale) and moved onto key eps of Season 2, 3 and 4. I'd forgotten out good the early episodes were.
That's not to say the latest eps aren't good, but they seem to be missing much of self-deprecating humor that marked the earlier seasons. The chemistry between all the characters was much more alive than it was this last season. I don't think it has much to do with the cast changes, but I do think it has to do with how the long-term actors have been continuing to trudge along on their daily jobs of putting on these characters and saying these lines.
After 9 years as someone, is it hard to continue to be that someone? Do the actors really still feel that excitement for these scripts that came through in the early years?
I hope so, but I just don't feel it. I don't think it's fair to say that RDA's departure caused the lack of umph, but I don't disagree that it's a part of it. Could it be that it's just about time for everyone to hang up their P90s and walk away? I don't know. But I miss the comraderie that I'm seeing this weekend. I hope the new season will find some of that again.

We have heard Jack use the words Durentis, and Cruvis and maybe one or two others. Lets see how many more words we can invent for the rest of the language. How about "smurgle" for travel...we all know that SG-1 smurgles a lot. And "glorcope" for a body of water like a lake....and we dont want the team to smugle into a glocope do we?

I watched Stargate this evening. It was Ascention I believe, the episode where Orlin (I think that's his name) comes and destroys Sam's electronics to make a Stargate in the basement. "By the way, you need a new microwave" ...love those lines, LOL! Anyway, I never got the feeling during this episode the first time I saw it that Sam and Orlin were intimate. Didn't seem that way to me again tonight, either. But then this season when Orlin came back as a child they said that Sam and O had relations. Did I miss something again? Or am I just in denial?

I know none of us can afford this, but I had to share. Richard Dean Anderson returns in '200'
TUESDAY - MARCH 28, 2006
Richard Dean Anderson needs no introduction to Stargate SG-1 audiences: He led the SG-1 team and served as an executive producer for eight years on the hit series, helping to make it the record-breaking franchise that it is today. Now, the "Jack O'Neill" actor is officially on board for a return appearance in the show's tenth season.
Anderson will appear in the episode currently titled "200," which not coincidentally will air at the show's 200th episode, this summer. "200" will allow the cast and crew to break outside the mold of the traditional Stargate episode while revisiting a comical storyline from the past -- precisely 100 episodes ago, in fact.
The show's former leading man will also guest star on Stargate Atlantis in Season Three, and will appear in additional episodes of SG-1's tenth year.
Beware of minor spoilers below!
"We'll see Willie Garson," executive producer Brad Wright told GateWorld exclusively. "He's coming back. It's sort of a full circle thing. The story, in short strokes, is Martin Lloyd has come to the S.G.C. because even though "Wormhole X-Treme!" was cancelled after three episodes, it did so well on DVD they're making a feature. A little kiss to "Serenity" and Firefly, which was possibly one of the best cancelled series in history. And we're the Air Force consultants on the script."
"Wormhole X-Treme!" premiered on September 8, 2001, as the 100th episode of SG-1. In the episode, Martin Lloyd (a human from another world who was hiding out on Earth after deserting a war ... but didn't remember it) started a TV series based on his subconscious knowledge of the Stargate program, to which he was introduced in "Point of No Return."
"200" is co-written by nearly the entire Stargate writing staff, with each "vignette" segment being woven together within the framework of SG-1's suggestions for the "Wormhole X-Treme!" movie.
Jack O'Neill (Anderson) visits the set of "Wormhole X-Treme!," based on the real Stargate program, with Martin Lloyd (Garson) in the Season Five episode.
"So it starts with a read-through," Wright said. "But the vignettes spring from suggestions by our characters, and material in Martin's script which is kind of outrageous, too. And we jump all over the place -- I mean, we are going all over the place in this story. It's out there ... in a good way! It's fun. Hopefully it's funny. Hopefully it's very funny -- if not, it's at least fun."
Wright also said that while Anderson's decision to leave the show wasn't up to the producers (the actor had steadily reduced his time commitments to the show over three years, in order to spend more time with his young daughter at home in California), bringing him back was.
"We've asked him, and he's going to come back. Certainly not for the whole time, but he's going to come and play with us again. That door was left open, and he's going to come back and step through it."
The show's producers also told GateWorld that Anderson's appearance in the episode will be substantial, and not a brief cameo as he did in Season Nine's "Avalon, Part 1" and "Origin."
"The essence of his idea is that we'll all write it," Wright told GateWorld. "And that's a lot of fun. And we each took sections -- and my section is possibly the most outrageous. Fans are either going to love it, or they're going to hate it. But I thought it was fun. And I figure every hundred episodes you should be allowed to go outside the box a little bit.
"It's very much the [Simpsons] "Treehouse of Horror" structure. ... Let's just say that we're doing a sequence that is reminiscient of SG-1 meets 'Team America.' We're gettin' puppets. We're doing marionettes."
"200" will go before cameras in Vancouver on April 5, and will air in late August on The SCI FI Channel in the U.S. Stay tuned to GateWorld for more details!
