He was born in November of 1994. He was the runt of the litter and cast off by his mother.
Three weeks later, on a cold, snowy night, he was trying to stay warm under cast off car seat and he was found by two men. One of the men brought him home to his wife. She gave him a warm bath, nice warm milk and wrapped him in a towel and held him close. He felt so warm and loved he started licking her face. From that moment on they were inseperable.
She thought he looked like a pint of Cookies & Cream ice cream. So he became CC.
He was so small, at first, he needed steps to get up on the bed. He loved to be held and stratched.
Almost overnight he grew into a medium sized dog - long legs, big feet. And he and his little friend Peanut would chase each other around the apartment.
Some months later they moved from their apartment. And into a big house. CC and Peanut had a great time running around. Unfortunatly, CC learned a 'hard' lesson about linoleum and walls. He took it in stride. [{shake} 'I meant to do that.']
A few months later they all had to move into a small apratment. No room to run, but plenty of room for love. And along comes a little person. More people to play with him and to love.
A while after that came yet another move. A house with a really big yard to run in. Oh, the running!! He could stretch his legs and run around outside and have the time of his life. Running laps for mommy and chasing squirrels, and wild turkeys and keeping the property safe. {made him so proud to defend the house.}
Then came the first snow at the house. What a BLAST he had. Romping around throught snow up to his nose. Rolling around in it, getting lost in snowbanks. CC loved to hear the little person laugh when he jumped over the babygate. So he would do it a lot.
After a few years a new dog came to live with CC and his family.They called him Arnie. He was little, just like Peanut. They got along and played all the time. The years went by and things were just great. Plenty of food, plenty of room to run and lots and lots of Love.
Then one day yet another move. This house was small, the yard was almost too small for CC to run in, but he and Peanut and Arnie made the best of it. Even with the linoleum all over the house. They all filled the house with furniture, themselves and Love.
Then the time came. The time CC's mommy never wanted to come. CC was getting old and having trouble getting around. He wasn't running and playing. He wasn't wagging his big tail. He couldn't really see, mommy or daddy or even his food. His legs hurt all the time. He didn't want to eat.
CC knew his time and come to pass on, but he didn't want to leave mommy. All she could do anymore was look at him and cry. She knew how much he hurt and that he was hanging on for her. So she took CC to the vet and did the only thing that would help him. {and break her heart} She held him and cried while the life left his body. The last gasps will be forever in her memory. She held him and cried a river. When it was over, and his tail had gone limp, she released his soul to the heavens.
CC is now healthy, happy and running in hugh green fields in the heavens with other dogs who were loved just as much as he is. But at night he goes to the edge of the field and lays down looking down at mommy and wagging his tail so she can see. Watching over his family and waiting until the day when mommy comes to play with him again.
