Author: Teacup (hoping this is okay)
Subject: Fan Fiction Challenge Experiment

I decided to start my own fan website (I'm currently unemployed - this is what happens), and I had this idea that just wouldn't let go for another fanfic challenge. So any authors who might be interested, I would love for you to check it out.

It's not meant to compete with other challenges and, as a matter of fact, stories would have to be posted on this board or other posting sites. I'm going to try my best to post the prompts at times that other prompts aren't coming out (so, I won't put them up at the beginning of the month for sure).

I guess it will depend on the interest level as to how often I put up prompts. I've got a stock pile already, so even when I get busy I should be able to at least add prompts when the time comes.

Cece, I've tried e-mailing you several times to get more express permission for this, but that's been unsuccessful (don't know if there is an e-mail glitch). Since, I've spent a lot of time working on this idea at this point, I'm going to go ahead and put it on my site, but obviously, if it's a problem you can say so and delete this post. But I hope it's not a problem.

I may not be making sense, but going to my website might help. It's http://www.geocities.com/teacupofjag/

(Sorry, I don't know how to make this a link here, so you'll have to copy and paste)

I'm new at this webpage thing, and while I went overboard in Photoshop, spending way too much time on the picture graphics, the format of the website itself will hopefully get better over time.

Anyway, click on the green box, called "JAGged Lines Fan Fiction Challenge" which will take you to the 'Rules' for the challenge. Suggestions for improvement are welcome by email (or the comment sections on my page, which hopefully works).

After the list of Rules is a box called "Challenge #1" which should take you to the first prompt.

Since this board has been slow for a few days, I hope it's ok that I'm putting this here now.

OK, now that I've got this webpage thing out of my system, I can hopefully move on to more important things - like finishing my story for this month's HBX challenge ... and finding a job.

It's just because a bunch of people are looking at it around the same time, and the hourly data transfer limit has been exceeded. (Maybe someday I'll upgrade to a plan that won't have the hourly limit.)

Try back again later -- it should be up. Thanks!

Good luck on the job search!

[> I'm sorry Teacup, but I couldn't find your email, and I've checked on all three computers to see if it's there. (inside) -- Cece (a lot frazzled lately with RL stresses.), 03:02:36 07/25/08 Fri [1]

Of course I don't mind. Just make it clear that it's a different challenge so posters don't get mixed up. I'll even try to find the time to do a challenge, though I dare not make any promises. How about I make a link up top called "Teacup's Challenge Rules" and post your instructions? Otherwise, this post will get pushed down and no one will know about it.

Wow, thanks for the link, Cece! That's more than I expected. How about at some point you change it to just be a link to my site's Rules/Main Challenge page? (I don't think we need my ramblings kept up top.)

You can label the link, "Teacup's JL FanFic Challenge." I think that's self-explanatory enough (The JL is for 'JAGged Lines'.) That site is:

http://www.geocities.com/teacupofjag/JLFF_Challenge

With a simple link to that page, the info here will be up to date as I may modify/clarify the rules, and there will also be an easy link from that page to the prompts themselves.

I'm optimistic that we can avoid confusion between my challenges and yours. I'm not labeling my challenge prompts by month, but by number. So hopefully that will help.

And there's no need for the authors posting here to label that it's a response to my challenge in the subject line (although an Author's Note inside would be good), because my plan for archiving on my site will be through the authors e-mailing me the stories if they choose.

Authors are, of course, encouraged to archive here as well, but I figure the stories can just go under the author's name on your main archive page.

Hope your RL stress eases up soon, Cece!
