Subject: JaimiE, sorry about the BQs...

I say get that incubator out and have it all set....when I get back from vacation, I can collect some eggs from the little Serama pair and send them to you. She's quite a decent layer for a bird not bred for laying....and SO cute. Of course I can always stick in some BQ eggs if they are still laying as well. I don't have as many....but by the end of November, I am hoping to double the size of the dove/small bird aviaries by simply buying the welded wire and cutting more panels to add to the existing setup. Once that is done I am going to let the BQs go loose into the larger aviary which SHOULD end up being 12 foot long by 6 to 8 feet wide and 6 feet tall. That's going to house the larger doves. In the other one that is also 6 feet tall but only 3 feet by four feet....I am hoping to bump it out and make it at least 6 feet wide and 10 feet or more long.
I still have a decently sized ficus tree that is potted and my parents have it on their patio. I'm going to bring that to my house and put it inside the smaller of the two aviaries and add more plants and shade cloth, etc.....trying to really do it up nicely for ONCE which has always been my dream and NOW I have the space and zoning.....then raise some Gouldian Finches and Greenwing Doves.
Just let me know....heck if you want some eggs just to hatch for fun, I can send some of the others I have too. i LOVE my Jersey Giants and the Light Brahmas.....super big chickens, but really nice temperaments.
