They are in a 2'x 3'x 2' hardwire mesh cage that is inside our rabbit's pen (chicken wire). They rabbit pin is a wood stucture with a wood top. So the buttons are covered and protected from the sun, wind, rain. They are also right next to our fence, so that also protects them. They are on dirt, I would rather grass, but they love bathing in the dirt. They have an old little plastic hamster cage (the kind you hook up tunnels to) in there on its side for them to go into for more protection. They also have a wooden like house, and an igloo. They don't seem to mind the heat. I brought them in today cause it got up to 103!
