The whole thing is just so freakish. I wouldn't have been surprised if it had been a poisonous snake or a croc attack, but a stingray? So odd. And then I just saw this morning that he actually pulled the barb out of his chest ... I cannot imagine doing that. I'm sure it is instinct to remove the source of the pain immediately, but I wonder if he hadn't pulled it out if he would've had any chance of survival? They say the barb coming out is what causes the most damage.

My daughter LOVES his shows. We watched Animal Planet for hours last night while they showed all these shows he had done that detailed how he got started with the whole croc thing.

I think he was very cool and did a lot of great things to bring about awareness of some intriguing animals.
