Still looking for the chocolate cookie recipe, but I thought some of you might like this one. Super easy and sooooo good!

WATCH YOUR HIGH HEELS COW PIES
2 C. (12 oz.) milk chocolate chips; 1 T. shortening; 1/2 C. raisins; 1/2 C. chopped, slivered almonds.
In a double boiler over simmering water, melt the chocolate chips and shortening, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat. Stir in raisins and almonds. Drop by tablespoon onto wax paper. Chill until ready to serve. Yield: 2 dozen.

MOBILE, Alabama - America's Junior Miss program is giving itself a makeover, and it may result in a new name for the scholarship program.

In a letter to those closest to the organization, Executive Director Becky Jo Peterson acknowledged changing the name will cause "discomfort and concern" for some loyal supporters, but Peterson insists the re-branding effort is necessary for the organization to attract national sponsors.

"There are a lot of people who don't know what Junior Miss is about," Peterson told News Five. "They have a misconception of what we are. They lump us in with beauty pageants. As much as we can say we're not one, we're not one, that's the perception and we have to do what we can to try to change that."

This isn't the first time America's Junior Miss has tried a name change. In the late 1980's, the group briefly called itself America's Young Woman of the Year, but changed back to Junior Miss in 1993.

"With all due respect to those involved, they went about it all wrong," said Peterson, who insists this time the organization's re-branding effort will be successful. Earlier this year, the organization hired a Los Angeles consulting firm, Marshall Strategy, to come up with a plan. Peterson says the firm is being paid $100,000, but the money was raised separate from their scholarship efforts.

The organization hopes to pick its new name this go round by the first of next year and unveil all of their changes at the America's Junior Miss national finals in June.

Are there any local pageants that actually make money in some type of way? Like local directors making money for their services (specifically local directors who use their resources to help the pageant). I am just curious if this ever happens. No different than the heads of Miss America getting salaries, no?

Was at Disney's Hollywood Studios yesterday and went to watch their new show, the American Idol Experience. Nicole Minor, the current Miss New Mexico, performed Colors of the Wind in the Finale Show, meaning she had been the highest vote recipient at an earlier show that day earning her a spot in the day's finale. At the end of the show, the audience votes and although there were some really good singers, she had that certain something that put her ahead. She won the Finale, earning her a Dream Pass to an American Idol audition anywhere in the country next season - putting her at the front of the line without having to wait days and days to audition. Was proud to see a MAO girl on that stage and she looked and sounded really good. Wonder if a prelim talent award is in her future too??? Congrats.

Wondered if any other pageant girls had tried to do this?

Wondering if anyone has any information on these contestants:

Wakethia (forget her last name)--competed in Louisiana a few years back. Did she age out, or not come back?

Shannon Estenprise--I know she competed for MS a few years ago and didn't even crack the top 10. Where is she now? Is she coming back?

Tyrenda Williams--thought if she won AL she could have done very well at Miss America, but she never came back. What is she doing now?

Jennifer Lee--more recent, is she coming back to CA?

Kendra Pelletier--any plans to do USA?

Thanks
