Subject: Holly Days in Vienna Pageants

The Holly Days of Vienna is now accepting applications for its fifth annual Holly Days pageants. All applicants other than Miss contestants must reside or attend school in West Virginia or the Mid Ohio Valley. Miss contestants must live or attend school in West Virginia only.


The pageants will be held at Jackson Junior High School Auditorium on October 21, 2006. The Little Miss and Mister Holly Days, is for contestants ages 3 to 6 years old, will begin at 2:00 pm; the Junior Miss Holly Days, for contestants age 7 to 11 years old will begin at 3:30 pm; the Miss Teen Holly Days, for contestants 12 to 15 years old will begin at 5:00 pm and Miss Holly Days, for contestants 16 to 21 years old will be held at 6:30 pm. Junior Miss, Miss Teen and Miss Holly Days contestants will be required to attend an orientation on September 30, 2006 at the Wingate Inn, 1502 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, WV at 3:00 pm. A private interview with judges will be held on October 21, 2006 for Miss Teen and Miss Contestant. Registration deadline is September 22, 2006 for all contestants. Only the first 20 applicants in each age division will be accepted and contestant number will be determined by date the application is received. (EXAMPLE) last application received will be number one, and so on. So get your applications in early.



Registration fees are $30.00 for Little Miss and Mister; $45.00 for Junior Miss, $55.00 for Miss Teen; and $100.00 for Miss Holly Days. This entry fee can be paid by sponsors, family and or friends.



In addition to other gifts, winners of each category will receive savings bonds, tiaras, sashes and trophies, with Little Mister receiving a ball cap and Miss receiving a scholarship, amount determined by entries. Plus, the Miss will receive her entry paid to compete at WV Fairs and Festivals in Charleston, WV in January. All runner-ups will receive trophies and all contestants will receive a participation trophy, plaque or medallion.



The winning contestants will make their grand appearance at the Lighting ceremony in November, and the Vienna Christmas parade in December. They will also represent Holly Days in Vienna at several fairs and festivals during their reign, including the annual Vienna Volunteer Fire Department Ice Cream Social. Miss Holly Days will also represent the Holly Days Festival at the WV Fairs and Festival pageant held in Charleston, WV in January 2007.



Pageant applications will be available in local schools and the Parkersburg Public Libraries or by requesting one by email to deborahm2@charter.net or sending a self –addressed, stamped envelope to Holly Days in Vienna Pageant, P.O. Box 5475, Vienna, WV 26105. Completed applications should be mailed to same address. The Holly Days in Vienna pageant is not responsible for delay in receipt of applications for pageant arriving after deadline of September 22, 2006. Pageant admission tickets are $5.00 and can be purchased at the door.
