Hi Jock ... Before my time, but, I went to Woodlands Leicester, then Newton Aycliffe, finally St Johns Apethorpe hall. This was in the early 60s and was at St Johns for 14 months. I used to sleep as you probably did in the long gallery. Do you remember the bread pudding and coca we got? In summer, they filled the lilly pond so we could swim in it!! I used to work in the kitchen ar St Johns ....... Brian
