Mariah, you were my best friend for 18 years. You've seen me through many relationships, many moves, many other pets, and you were by my side as I raised my kids. You have always been a constant in my life. I feel like I lost a best friend and a family member both at once. Every day for 18 years I woke up to see your little face looking up at me. I remember how when I laid down you loved to just lay on my chest and look at me with such adoration. I never expected such pain. I knew you were old and getting sicker as time went by but that doesn't make it hurt any less. How am I going to get through my days without you? I will feel so alone but I will look forward to seeing you on the other side. I know when we see each other again, you will give me that same look you always gave me when I came through the door every day....that where have you been all day (?) look. I love you and I hope you knew that. Goodbye my BFF.
