I know exactly how you feel, I had to put my beloved kitty of 21 years to sleep 1/2/03. All the same symptoms as your
kitty. Kidney failure, she also was fine 2 days before. I cry every day. She was everything to me!. I too wonder if I did the right thing. Of course our feelings are normal and I believe we are a better people for loving our kitty's so much and being able to give them our love during the last few precious minutes. Your kitty loved you and it will probably hurt always, but we will see them again and they will be waiting for us like we remember.
Take care and dont be so hard on yourself
P.S my kitty's name was Whitesox and I loved her with all my heart as you did your kitty
