Subject: guilt over loss of cat

Our 3 year old cat just passed away 2 days ago.Cubby was healthy and normal except for some coughing the last few days.I really thought he just had a hairball,he had just been to the vets a month ago.Then Memorial Day we were out and when we came home he looked"not right" and was not playful.I figured I'd call the vet if he started coughing again but the next morning he wouldnt come when I called him and I just knew.I found him laying as if he was asleep but he just wouldnt wake up,I feel so guilty.His last few days I was so busy I should have noticed sooner he was sick,I just cant get over the guilt.Has anyone else been through this horrible "If only I had..."feeling?Thank you.
