I read your entry. I understand how you are feeling. I am so sorry to hear about your loss. You had no idea that Cubby at age 3 would be so ill. You had no reason to believe that his coughing was anything but a hairball. It's possible that whatever it was that took your sweet kitty, was something that even the vet couldn't do anything about. Whatever it was, know that Cubby is now in a better place, free from pain, coughing and feeling bad.

I just lost my kitty on Tuesday. I am Missy's Mom, the entry two below yours. I too feel guilty. I feel guilty about not being more insistant with the vet to discover why Missy had an upset stomach. She had been having stomach problems for 3 years. I was given pills to give her to help sooth her stomach. I can't help but believe now that her cancer started about 3 years ago. Back then, maybe surgery to remove the cancer would have helped her. Three years later, there was way too much of it in her abdomen to do anything about.

I hear that it is natural for us to feel guilty about what we did or didn't do. I guess it's all part of the grieving process. I hope soon that these feelings of guilt will lessen and we both will be able to move on and heal.

I am so sorry.
