I am so sorry to hear about your loss. You had no reason to believe at age 3 that your Cubby had anything more serious than a hairball that he was trying to cough up. It is possible that whatever it was that took your Cubby was nothing that a vet could do anything about.

I am Missy's Mom, my entry is two below yours. I too feel guilty that I wasn't more insistant with the vet's to find out why Missy was vomitting. (She has been seen by two) Her problem started 3 years ago. The vet had me give her pills to help sooth her stomach. Now, I can't help but to wonder if her cancer had started way back then. Now, 3 years later it had progressed to far to do anything about.

I hear that guilt is a normal part of the grieving process. We blame ourselves for things that either we did or didn't do. I hope that we both will move on from the greving process, but I know that it will take time. Someday we will be able to look back on the good times with our Kitty's without feeling so much pain.

Once again, I am so sorry to hear about your loss.
