Dear Renee,Thank you for your kind words on the loss of my dog Lucky.I am sorry for your loss of your dog Rosie, but I believe you did the right thing, the same as I did for Lucky. When they get to be older, like our babies were,I think it is unfair to them to put them through more pain than they were already. How much longer would it really give them and at what cost,a few months longer, maybe, for our sake. They are now out of pain and are playing at Rainbow Bridge until we meet them again. My boy has not been buried yet has we have had a very wet spring. It is now hot and dry so maybe it won't be too much longer.I have had a cross made by a good friend and a plaque also when the job is done.I got a new puppy a few weeks ago that I named Rebel, and he keeps me busy.He is a Lab/Rott cross and is now 9 weeks old.I was going to get another Shepherd but decided against it because I did not want to compare him to Lucky.Nothing will replace my Luck dog but I love this little guy already for what he has become to me,for himself, and not compared to Lucky.I thank you for answering my letter and you did help.I know I am not alone in my grief and I hope you are doing better as well.God bless you and good luck.I know we did the right thing for our fur babies and I hope you believe the same.I will say a prayer for you.Susan.
