No one can say she did not live a full life- she was born in
1984 which put her at 19 years old. I was only 4 when she was born. We knew she was in pain because she had arthritis in her hind legs which made it hard for her to get around. In the weeks before her death I noticed a really bad scab that she was picking at when she would clean herself, so her pain was evident. The poor thing would wet herself in the last few days because the immobility had affected her. It was heartbreaking to see her today, instead of continuing to get up to the litter box to go she just settled in it-- as if to spare us the task of having to clean up after her. Oh Sam, bless your little heart thinking about us cleaning up the mess even before her passing :_( . When she finally did pass we wrapped her up in a few nice cloth shrouds that my dad and my brother had made and then buried her on the side of the house and placed
an ornamental stone over her resting place as a symbolic tombstone to protect her resting body from scavengers. We buried her because we needed her soul around. Tonight I drink Vodka to wash away the pain...
