Your choice to let your sweet little Mabel go was obviously a very difficult one for you to make. You loved her for all of those years and second quessing is always so easy. Trying to get that last moment before making the decision to let go.... I too am in the same place-I have an older siamese cat with mouth cancer and am always wondering when will be the best time. My goal is to let him go one day, one week too early than to have him suffer. He will leave soon and I can't bear to think of him in pain. I tell you all of this because I personally feel that you who loved Mabel most made that most loving decision to free her from her pain. Waiting a few more days might have extended her life by a bit, but the net result could also have been that she experienced more pain. Mabel was a very lucky little one to pass most of her days on earth with someone who loved her so much. I suspect that her thoughts now are not of the timing of your decision but of the love that surrounded her when she left. She loves you still you know.
