Subject: Lost a Pug to PDE

My girlfriend and I lost our Pug Homer yesterday to PDE or Pug Dog Encephalitis. He was a healthy 2 year old male pug who brought joy and happiness to all those around him. Both my girlfriend and are are shocked and devastated by the news. He had been healthy as can be since we purchased him. And then all of the sudden while we were on vacation we get a call saying he had a seizure and was admitted to thehospital for testing. Less than 24hrs. later they said he died from convulsions. I can't tell you how much of an effect this has had on us. For my girlfriend this dog was her life. For me it was equally as special. I don't know how to deal with this loss....But I am trying to find a way to help the ongoing research involved with this terrible disease. So if anybody can help me in that it would be appreciated. And if anyone has dealt with something similar I owuld also like to hear how they dealt with it. It seems that there is a void now and I am not sure if getting another is the answer...Thank you...
