Subject: Boo Bear is Gone (Maxwell)

In 1998 we lost our second child at 8 months into the term, we also almost lost my wife, placenta premia. In 1999, we were introduced to the Bernese Mountain Dogs and were totally hooked. We were looking to find and fill a void and in August of 1999, after WAITING A YEAR, a 12 hours Motor home trip from Grants Pass OR to Denver, then a 2 hour flight to San Antonio TX, red eye I might add, we got Maxwell von Sundance at the Austin Airport.

A life of unconditional love, a fullfilling relationship of man and pet, daughter and friend, my wifes protector when I was away. All the kids in the neighborhood, loved this guy, the gentle giant, people would stop us everywhere we went and want to meet, pet, have there kids photo with this guy. A statesman in his own way.

On August 29th, 2003 JUST 4 YEARS YOUNG, we had to put him down, after a battle with a brain tumor. We gave it a full press battle, however it was not to be.

I cried like never before, I lost my best friend.

Give your dog a hug, be good to your pets, those people who chain and seldom provide love to there pets, are missing a unique part of life.
