I am so sorry for your loss and I know what you are going through.On may 5th of this year I had to put my german shepherd,Lucky,to sleep as he had lost his quality of life.He would have been 14 years old next month.I rescued him many long years ago and he was such a great faithful friend,who was always by my side until the last few weeks.He was getting along not too bad until that last weekend in may when he could not get up any more.He was in pain,you could see it in his eyes so my husband and I made the decision to let him go to Rainbow Bridge and free him from his suffering.It was very hard to do and we still miss him so very much,but he did not deserve to suffer.We had him buried at a pet cemetary not far from us and my friend made him a cross for his grave.I have not yet made a visit to see it has it still hurts so much.I still look for him,it is hard to believe he is gone.They are probably playing together at the bridge waiting for us to join them in time.I am making a scrapbook for my wonderful friend to help remember all the great times we had together.Maybe it would help you has well to make one.My heart is with you and I will say a prayer for you and our fur babies.
