I know exactly how you feel. It will soon be 3 months that we had to put our beloved Gilden Retriver mix down & the tears still flow. I think about his last 3 days & wish there were things I had done differently. I to wish I could pet him again & run my fingers through his fur.
He was such a good dog. I told him a lot that I loved him .
I used to look at him & say How did you get to be so pretty? Did you get it from your momma & poppa.
I never knew I could love a dog as much as I loved him.
Everyone says it will get better but the pain of his loss is still hard to bear.
I hope to get another Golden in the Spring.
