I am so sorry for your loss. I am going through the same thing right now. My little chelsi died Monday night after almost 14 years. I am blaming myself, because I think she may have eaten a mouse that had gotten into the D-con I had put out last year. Yes, she was old, but I thought she had many more years with us. It's such a shock. She has been with me most of my adult life, my roomate, companion, my friend. I, too, think about a the funny little things she did that made her so unique. She was the sweetest, and most loving thing ever. She was there for me during my divorce, comforting me, drying a tear with a lick on my face. Everything I see seems to remind me of her, flooding back memories and the crying starts again. I tried to go into work today, but I just fell apart, I couldn't function. They sent me home, luckily I have people who support me.
Just know, you are not the only one going through this difficult time. Knowing the bond you had with your pet, I know you must be a good person. I'm sure you gave your pet years of friendship and companionship, along with lots of laughs. Keep those memories in your heart, and know their spirit is always with you, trying to comfort you, as in
life.
Take care
Marnie, Idaho
