While attending college I cleared snow and kept the halls clean in a residence on campus. For extra pocket money I also did some cleaning in the small apartments. Not many students had money to pay for this but on the top floor lived a professor and she had me come in twice a week. In her apartment I discovered a log book. Not about discipline, but a day to day record of the laxatives, suppositories and enemas she took. I thought this very strange.

What was even more strange to me was that about once a month her mother would come to visit and in the log book was always a record of her mother giving her at least one enema while she was there.

Alice, your post brought back a memory for me. My mother always kept a small black notebook in her drawer in which she recorded all enemas. Not just the ones she gave me and my two sisters but also the ones she took herself, gave to my father, or to friends and neighbors. The friend was mostly her friend Betty who would come to visit in the summer and in the month she was with us would earn two or three entries in the enema diary. Three different neighbors would also get enemas from mother every now and then. Not often. Once or twice a year perhaps. My mother was a nurse by training and she called putting an enema entry into the diary charting. In the hospital if a patient got an enema it was marked on their chart and at home it got marked in her log book.

I got caught once, when I was a teenager, sneaking into her desk and reading the log book. She said if I was so interested in enemas, I'd get an enema. That night I got a full dose of warm suds up my bottom, as I did the next night, and the night after that. By the fourth night I was pleading with her that I'd learned my lesson, but for a whole week I got an enema every day and she marked it into her book.

This didn't cure me of sneaking a look at her enema diary, but I learned to be more careful, that's for sure!
