Subject: Mary Travers Obituary September 16, 2009

Mary Travers always appeared to me a great lady of dignity, as lovely as she
was a gifted vocalist.

The group PPM is a stellar group of the Folk Music idiom.

As much, this group has remained politically active and socially conscious.

Mary Travers was a social and political activist for most of her life. She sang
with conviction of her beliefs, as well she lived those beliefs.
To have known of her life and musical gifts was in itself a gift.

She is a lady who will be greatly missed.

I am so glad I had the opportunity to know of this wonderful group and the
iconic lovely blonde talented Mary Travers.

I purchased the Peter Paul & Mary Box set, "Carry It On" last fall.

It is a wonderful box set.

Peter, Paul and Mary produced this box set as well.

It is tastefully well done as only this group would consider a project of such
magnitude.

Warm condolences to her family, and to Noel Paul Stookey, and Peter Yarrow, two
of her dearest friends and colleagues.

I will post a link at the bottom of this post.

Mary Travers of Peter, Paul and Mary Dies at 72

Published: September 16, 2009

Mary Travers, whose ringing, earnest vocals with the folk trio Peter, Paul and
Mary made songs like "Blowin' in the Wind," "If I Had a Hammer" and "Where Have
All the Flowers Gone?" enduring anthems of the 1960s protest movement, died on
Wednesday at Danbury Hospital in Connecticut. She was 72 and lived in Redding,
Conn.
