Brainstorming
This is a game we often play on car journeys, especially when we need a break from “I spy”! We chose a topic, for example, “boy’s names” and then go round everyone in turn to see which name they can think of for the letter “a”. Once everyone has had a go, we continue on to see how many more we can come up with. Then the game moves on to the letter “b” We allow three “skips” for the tricky letters like x, and often the children join forces, helping each other to try to outwit mum and dad! More often than not, we then have to start all over again with another topic, for example animals. Our children, and any friends in the car, all love this game. Because we go right through the alphabet they do not actually need to remember just one letter sound, but need to think quickly and in one topic area. Even our 3 year old likes to join in, often with help from older siblings!
