However, THESE are my comments.

Alan is irreplacable. No question. But, Tony is NOT Alan. If Tony ever leaves, he'll be irreplacable also. Different styles/techniques/abilities are all good. Tony is not going to better than Alan or worse than Alan, he's different than Alan........

Paul, I applaud your comment about playing on four cylinders for too long. In my opinion, that took guts. Stress, no matter the source, has had an effect on Blotto. Nobody is immune to it, and nobody can be immune to it. But it's over now - so, what the heck, add another and play on six - EVEN EIGHT - cylinders. This November is my 10th year anniversary as a resident of Blottodom, and I know what is and what can be. I, for one, am looking forward to it. (No, I didn't just say I'm happy Alan is gone. I'm just looking forward to the future. I will miss Alan a LOT)

Finally, well, for what I'm willing to post up here on this quirky little board anyway, I have two things to say.

One: COVERS. Bring back that anticipation and uncertainty (except please always tell me what's coming I can't stand the suspense at my age)[and no, it has nothing to do with UTC. A Blottoized cover is a rare and precious thing and it is ultra-special]

Two: JAMS. There was more musical space at Payton's, and there was an upbeat sorta freedom that I recognized again. Ain't no hurry - spread your wings again and get all over it. Let it flow and wind around our ears and soar like in the past.

Third: (I know I said two things. Get over it.) As I've said many times to Alan, David, Mark, Mike, and Paul [alphabetical, get it?] and now I say it to Tony: Blotto isn't just music. Blotto is one of the very few facets in the diamond of reality and what-should-be; almost a direct link to a very incredible and sorely missed past [no, I'm not living in the past, I'm celebrating it]. All other bands pale in comparison to what REALLY happens at a Blotto show. . .

Fire up your engines gentlepersons! Let's get this party started.
