when Bob was released from his responsibilities in the band, all i kept hearing was how Mike "wants to take over the world."
the realization that real media outlets and real management for a highly talented but clueless band is never going to happen is a hard egg to swallow. the truth is, this is a really great bar band that will probably never amount to any more than what they are now. playing the same old tired rooms and making peanuts is the reality of the present incarnation of Mr. Blotto.
dealing with this band is like pulling your own teeth. most of their great moments are not worked at. they just happen. the amount of ill-preparedness and shoddy workmanship on presenting their product (which is still excellent, occasionally) is overwhelming.
to use an analogy, coca-cola has been selling the same product for years. but they market continuously and keep finding new ways to present the product to you and others.
this does not happen with Blotto's product. it sits on a shelf until friday and saturday in the hopes of a great turnout to shows that half the time aren't even posted for you to plan to go to.
i have personally given my blood (real blood), sweat and tears to this band. the rewards for this are hardly worth talking about. i have spent more money on trying to help this band than i care to count. they refuse to take it to the next level. they seem content with mediocrity. the potential for greatness is there. spend some money and hire a real manager to run your marketing. you'll get rich. no shit. are you guys listening?
