Yes a lot of effort put in by the players this season and not just the 1sts..
I've re read the initial statement on this thread a few times and quite frankly it beggars belief.. Don't hide behind the screen unless you've got some decent banter to convey If it's that the press didn't cover the two events well enough then send a letter to the Weekly News (let's be honest they've never been good at covering KRFC anyway) - That is just vitriolic pettiness and pretty cowardly. I'm sure Willie, Peter etc are all welling with pride at how their ceaseless, unpaid efforts are appreciated.
Of course looking back it was only the 1sts that got support wasn't it..
No assistance was offered to the Colts throughout their cup campaign - I know Dickie was probably planning to spend his Sunday afternoon in the North East anyway!! And the beer handed over to the Colts by senior players - including 1XV (all of the man of the match sponsorship by the way) was a particularly selfish act by this f****n club.
I know that Reg turning out on the Wooden Spoon weekend (with a dicky tummy!!) and also arranging a table at the ball was purely aimed at supporting the 1XV. Oh - I believe both matches were played on the main pitch...in hail etc etc (I was there).
Looking back on the season I'm sure you'll agree it was a disaster due to the committee's one eyed efforts at only supporting the 1XV -
League status retained in first season back (having beaten or drawn with the top 5)
2nd XV Cup retained
Regular and successful 3XV fixtures
Pirates weekend, Clarkys birthday match plus other Pirates fixtures
Successful Colts XV in both cup and regular fixture list
Colts making 1XV debuts
Colts regularly in 2XV squad and representing Sth Warwickshire Seniors
Hugely successful Mini and Junior section
Oh and Jonno played his last match before becoming England boss at Glasshouse Lane..
As you can see - a complete disaster.......
Now I shall take a long breath and look forward to the Club Dinner...
