You know if it hadn't been for people like Frank Moffett, Red Pressnell Wyantt Cannon and so many other guys and the ones that has departed we wouldn't be thinking of trying to relieve those days of gone by that was yesterday the way I rember them. One day my son and I decided to take our Hogs out for a ride and I was reaily having a good time listing to my bike reaily sounding off in the mountains and leaning in an out of the curives and the next thing I remembering was my son leaning over my bed and saying Dad do you remember these guys Bob Hambrick, Harland, Highsmith and Moffett? Knowing these names they came back like yesterday. I said sure I do and what am I doing in this bed and what are all this stuff that's all over my legs and where am I?Boy did I get a surprise when he told me I had wreck my bike going in a curve and mashed me all over a guard rail and then kicked me over a mountain and he said you died on me from all that banging around that Harley was doing to you but my traing that I had with the EMT service with the Fire Dept I got you breathing again and they air flighted you to W.Va. Univeristy and here you are and I let Bob Hambrick know that I didn't think you could make the Reunion this year. Now that is back like some of the days of the Old 68th Sqd. and the guys having things happing to them. Red Eakers was fire guard while the crew started the engines when we were leavig Warren Robins AFB and I gave the signal to pull the chocks Davis the engineer decided to start the prop check and blew Davis into the wheel well door and the landing gear. But Davis being the guy he was put the chocks in the back door and got on board the plane so I disconned the hesd set and went around to the back door and got on but I couldn't find Red so I started to rull up the rear door and something touched me and I look around and there was a bloody face looking at me and it scared me so bad I dropped the door back down and I thought it tore it off and I closed it and locked it and I went up stairs and Capt. Beaucond was patching Reds head up from where he got blew into the landing gear. Now I know what it's like when you come to your self after something like that happens. But that was just another day in the 68th. like Red Pressnell and a elect. were checking the drop tank curcit and I had just came out the front door and this big bang goes off and I looked around and Pressnells drop tanks were laying on the ground boy I just knew they were going to blow up but by the grace of God nothing happend except he had to put on a new set. Well Sandy look what you all have put togeither for us to tell on each other. But it sure helps to bring back old times again. I was looking foward to hearing all the old tales and new ones to. Like Bob and Epps reworking his camper and the visit Bob made out to see Maynard Vance and Henry Bartlett getting hurt at home falling off a letter no less. So now I know I'm not the only one having problems, but I got another chance to let God rule my life and quit acting like a 71 year old great, great grandpaw and just be one.
