As the list of Buddies grow on our Memorial Page, I get very nostalgic about those days 50 plus years ago in Lake Charles and at Bunker Hill when we were in our prime and determined to make America the greatest country in the world.
None of our Buddies of the 68th could invision a time when we would ever allow the horrendous changes that we see happening to America today.No one would have ever dreamed in their worst nightmare that our laws wouldn't allow prayer in schools.
It would have been inconceivable that unborn babies would be legally murdered with abortion on demand.
We served our country along side any number of buddies of different nationalties, many of them still in the process of becoming American citizens. One such Buddy was Hank Bartlett, a Phillipino national, who along with being one of my lifelong friends is sadly listed on the Memorial Page.
I had the privilige of accompanying Hank on a trip from Bunker Hill to Chicago in 1957 to finalize his naturalization process, and he became an American citizen.
Today we have immigrants by the millions coming into this country illegally, with no intrest in becomming citizens,but to flood the job market with cheap labor, and to live off social programs designed for legal taxpayers.
All this nonsense is in violation of our immigration laws, yet is sanctioned by almost every Polition in Washington.
We now find our country involved in probably what will be the last war of our lifetime. The war with Islamic Muslams, cannot be won without our country coming together and becomming united in the effort. This is highly unlikely since our washington politicians are so intent on a power grab that the are willing to sacrifice the security of our country to gain a political advantage.
We are now presented with a list of presidential candidates, both Democrat and Republican, none of which would make a pimple on a presidents Ass. No Matter which of these candidates is elected none of our nations ills will be addressed and it looks like Americas best days are behind us.
If there was ever a group of patriotic Americans who could turn America around I am convinced it would be my buddies of the 68th and their families.Heres my challenge.
