I am doing research into my Grandfathers heritage. Here is what I know so far.

He was said to be of Iroquois decent. He lived on a Reservation near Niagara Falls NY up until the age of approx 14 - 16 yrs of age.

Here is the family so far:

Lewis G. Dean b. January 22, 1889 New York - Death Certificate showed Sheepshead Bay NY as place of birth. But no birth record exists for him in Kings County NY.
Death: September 17, 1950 Boston MA

Occupation: Actor

Wife: Margaret E. Bellew b. May 31,1888 Caledonia NY. Died Jan. 1973. NH

Lew Dean's parents:
Mother: Ada B. (Bell or Belle) Gibson b. ?? NY or Penn.
Father: Charles Dean b. January 22,?? NY

On 1920 & 1930 US Census show for Lewis Dean two different places of birth listed for his mother, Ada, 1920 shows NY, 1930 shows Penn.

On the Tuscarora Nation Map, Lewiston NY of the Extra Census 1892 shows a "Dean" residing near the Old Mission on Mountain Road. The actual census records were destryoed in a fire.

Any input, help, suggestions, or information, would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Maggie
