Well when this come up I got excited. Thought someone new was looking for Charlotte. I have been told that the payes de haut means high plains or mountains area which St Michel de Saints Quebec is in a high mountains area. My grandpa was only 4 yrs old when they moved to Cheboygan. He claimed the area they lived in was called Mattawa and they changed it to St Michel. There is an area on the map that is south and a little west of St Michel called something similar and I have wondered if that was where Charlotte was from. Jan
