I have always been told by my mother and grandmother that my great grandmother had some Indian heritage. Her last name was Sanborn and she was born in Baldwin, ME. Now, I believe and was told by other members of the family, that my great grandmother's mother (who was a Shaw) was part Indian. She was born in Sebago, ME and it was said that this was part of a reservation back then (1868), but I haven't found anything to support this. My great great grandmother Shaw's father was given or bought land in North Sebago, ME. I have hit a brick wall with this and would appreciate any direction you could give me....Thanks!
